N.C. Bookwatch (Noon, UNC-TV) – Author E.C. Hanes talks about his book “Billy Bowater.”

Daytime Emmy Awards (8 p.m., Pop) – Festivities at the 42nd annual awards show include honoring more than 350 nominees in 68 categories. Betty White will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award. The North Carolina-based PBS program “A Chef’s Life” starring Vivian Howard was nominated for two awards in Creative Arts categories and won one of them on Friday night (unfortunately, not part of tonight’s televised program). Hosted by Tyra Banks, and presenters include Regis Philbin, Steve Harvey, Marie Osmond and others. (Note for channel searchers: Pop TV is the former TV Guide Network.) Call the Midwife (8 p.m., UNC-TV) – Sister Julienne questions the nature of absolute faith when she meets a Christian Scientist couple who refuse medicine for their newborn.

The Good Wife (9 p.m., CBS) – Alicia’s future is uncertain after she is forced to resign from the newly won State’s Attorney job. Meanwhile, R.D. (Oliver Platt) hires Cary and Diane to argue against conservative lawyers in a test case involving mandatory sentencing.

Secrets and Lies (9 p.m., ABC) – Ben’s attic discovery adds to the tension between him and Christy, who is still keeping the kids away from him.

Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown (9 p.m., CNN) – Season 5 begins with Bourdain returning to Korea for the first time in ten years, where he experiences a new, hyper-modern Seoul – including Korean fried chicken, vintage army stew and Kimchi.

Mad Men (10 p.m., AMC) – Peggy has difficulties casting for a commercial and Roger asks Joan to help fix a clerical error.
