What to Watch on Saturday: Lifetime’s ‘Marilyn’ miniseries
Marilyn: The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (8 p.m., Lifetime) – In the first night of this dramatized two-part miniseries about Marilyn Monroe, secrets from the movie star’s life are uncovered, including one of her biggest – her mother, Gladys, long institutionalized for mental illness. Kelli Garner plays Monroe and Susan Sarandon plays Gladys. Emily Watson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan also star. A 10 p.m. special “Beyond the Headlines” looks at some of Marilyn’s romantic relationships.
2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (8 p.m., HBO) – Inductees include Ringo Starr, The 5 Royales, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Green Day, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Lou Reed, Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble and Bill Withers at the ceremony in Cleveland.
Grey’s Anatomy (8 p.m., ABC) – If you hate yourself and like to feel miserable, re-watch this episode where Shonda kills McDreamy.
Treetop Cat Rescue (9 p.m., Animal Planet) – In the first episode of a new series about cat rescues, Tom navigates a sloping tree to rescue a difficult cat, and Shaun faces wet and damp conditions to save a friendly, homesick stray. A second episode airs at 9:30.
Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) – As far as reruns go, you can’t get much better than this: a B.B. King performance from 1983 that features the songs “The Thrill is Gone,” “Night Life” and “”Everyday I Have the Blues.” Watch it.
