Your Christmas TV guide: When to watch Rudolph, Charlie Brown and favorite movies

With Thanksgiving out of the way, it’s time to really get serious about our Christmas TV viewing.

As in years past, we’ll update our 2019 Christmas TV guide throughout December as more holiday specials populate the schedule.

And as usual, we’re sticking mostly to prime-time programming on broadcast networks and basic cable (with some Netflix premieres here and there). We’ll alert you to the airings of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Grinch,” and movie classics like “Elf,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

We’ll also alert you to new Christmas movies airing on Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Lifetime, OWN and BET, but we won’t list all of the repeats. (Lifetime and the Hallmark channels are showing Christmas movies pretty much 24/7 now).

If you miss a broadcast network airing of something like “A Charlie Brown Christmas” or “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” don’t worry, because many of these shows will likely air multiple times in December. Check back with us often.
