What to Watch on Saturday: Will Ferrell ‘Takes the Field’ for HBO

Ferrell Takes the Field (10 p.m., HBO) – In this new documentary, actor Will Ferrell goes to five spring-training ballparks, where he plays 10 different positions on major league baseball teams in one day.

Doctor Who: The Time of the Doctor (8 p.m., BBC America) –In this week’s “Doctor’s Finest” offering, the Doctor makes sacrifices to save a town called Christmas.

Johnny Cash: American Rebel (9 p.m., CMT) – This new two-hour documentary about the life of Johnny Cash covers the artist’s life and music, from his first hit in 1957 to his recording of “Hurt” in 2002 and his death in 2003. Cash’s family cooperated with the documentary, which features his daughter Roseanne Cash and son John Carter Cash, as well as musicians Sheryl Crow, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Rodney Crowell.
