Walt Disney (9 p.m., UNC-TV) – The first part of this American Experience profile examines the life and legacy of filmmaker and animator Walt Disney, from his creation of Mickey Mouse through the making of “Snow White,” the first full-length animated film. Part 2 airs Tuesday night.

Also on tonight . . .

Dancing with the Stars (8 p.m., ABC) – The first episode of the 21st season introduces the contestants, including Gary Busey, Paula Deen, Chaka Khan and Alek Skarlatos.

So You Think You Can Dance (9 p.m., Fox) – The winner is chosen in the Season 12 finale.

Chasing Life (9 p.m., ABC Family) – April is reluctant to accept a literary agent’s advice about her book until a meeting with a friend changes her point of view.
