What to Watch on Thursday: ‘Mom,’ ‘Elementary’ back on CBS

Mom (9 p.m., CBS) – In the Season 3 premiere, Bonnie’s mother Shirley (Ellen Burstyn), who abandoned Bonnie when she was young, suddenly shows up and wants to be part of Christy and Bonnie’s lives. Allison Janney just won a very deserved Emmy award this year for her role as Bonnie.

Project Runway (9 p.m., Lifetime) – In the Season 14 finale, the finalists rush to retool their collections for New York Fashion Week, and a winner is chosen.

Scandal (9 p.m., ABC) – Fitz makes a shocking discovery as he tries to win back the trust of the American people.

A Chef’s Life (9:30 p.m., PBS) – Vivian attends Charleston’s Wine and Food Festival and takes a clamming trip.

Elementary (10 p.m., CBS) – Season 4 starts with Morland Holmes (John Noble) determined to do whatever it takes to straighten out his estranged son’s life.

Nightwatch (10 p.m., A&E) – Mardi Gras proves hectic for the first responders in the Season 2 opener.
