Everyone’s favorite purple blob, Grimace is taking over menus as McDonald’s celebrates the beloved character’s birthday.

A special meal for Grimace is available at all participating McDonald’s locations for a limited time. But, prices vary by location.

You can order a milkshake that also includes the option to choose a Big Mac or 10-piece chicken McNuggets. The Grimace birthday meal is available in Charlotte at McDonald’s locations like 2625 South Blvd. or 2745 Freedom Dr.

What is Grimace?

Grimace, a “lovable, spherical-shaped, purple giant,” continues to live on as one of McDonald’s most recognizable characters, according to People Magazine.

“He is an enormous taste bud, but a taste bud nonetheless,” Brian Bates, McDonald’s franchise manager in Windsor, Ontario, told CBC, a Canadian news station.

Why is McDonald’s selling the Grimace shake?

Today reported the milkshake appeared on menus nationwide as a part of the Grimace Birthday Meal in honor of Grimace’s birthday.

What is a Grimace shake?

The medium-sized shake includes ingredients like milk, sugar, cream, and corn syrup.

While the item is similar to a vanilla reduced-fat ice cream from McDonald’s, it comes stirred with Grimace Shake Syrup made of “Vegetable Juice (Color), Modified Food Starch, Natural Flavor,” and citric acid topped with whipped light cream.
