A registered sex offender from Hendersonville was sentenced Thursday to 40 years in prison for producing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Kieron Mann, 45, also was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Martin Reidinger to serve a lifetime of supervised probation, continue to register as a sex offender and pay $50,000 in restitution to his victims. The sentence was announced by Anne Tompkins, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.
“Families affected by this vile predator can rest more comfortably knowing their children will never be harmed by Mr. Mann again,” Henderson County Sheriff Charles McDonald said in a statement.
Hendersonville is about a half-hour south of Asheville.
Federal agents determined that Mann was producing child pornography with a boy between the age of 3 and 7, and was sexually abusing two other children, federal officials said.
Mann became a registered sex offender following a 1996 conviction for receiving child pornography, Tompkins’ office said.
Last May, Mann pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography.
