Five injured in south Charlotte crash
Multiple people were seriously injured in a crash in south Charlotte Thursday morning.
The crash happened on South Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say the inbound lanes in the 7300 block of South Boulevard are shut down due to the crash.
MEDIC said five people were taken to nearby hospitals following the crash. Four people were taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main and another was taken to Novant Health Medical Center, according to MEDIC.
CMPD tweeted about the crash shortly after 6 a.m. Drivers are asked to take an alternate route.
There's no word on what caused the crash. It is unclear when the lanes will reopen.
