New retail tenants to open soon in a booming Charlotte neighborhood
A midtown building under construction will house four national tenants that recently signed leases: CorePower Yoga, The Habit Burger Grill, Verizon Wireless and Bishops Cuts & Color.
The 12,500-square-foot, two-story building, previously home to a cosmetology school, is at 209 S. Kings Drive, across from the Target and BJ’s. Tenants will open starting in late 2018, according to Providence Group, the Charlotte firm behind the $3.9 million redevelopment.
"(The) overall goal (for the project) was to restore the underutilized, irreplaceable real estate, bringing a more modern and hip look to this neighborhood center," said Mary Bryant of the Providence Group.
The building has one 2,737-square-foot space remaining. Here are the details of the other tenants:
▪ CorePower Yoga, which opened its first Charlotte studio at Park Road Shopping Center last year, will be in a 3,500-square-foot space. A national brand, CPY offers a variety of yoga classes including beginner Vinyasa yoga, advanced hot yoga and yoga sculpt, which is yoga sequences done with free weights.
▪The Habit Burger Grill, a fast-casual burger chain that first opened in California in 1969, will be in a 3,000-square-foot space. This will be the restaurant's first Charlotte location.
▪ Verizon Wireless will open a corporate store in a 2,000-square-foot space.
▪ Bishops Cuts & Color, started in Portland, Ore., will be in a 3,000-square-foot space. Bishops offers a variety of hair services as well as a free beer for customers as they wait.
Exact opening dates for the tenants were not immediately available.
