Military might arrived in Charlotte Tuesday as an AH-1 Cobra, UH-1 Huey, V-22 Osprey and CH-53 Super Stallion landed near First Ward Park in preparation for Marine Week.
More than 700 members of the U.S. Marine Corps are coming to the city for this week’s activities, which will include wreath-laying ceremonies, community service projects and a Marine Air-Ground Task Force Demonstration on Saturday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The public may visit the planes and other military equipment and aircraft at First Ward Park Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
