A day in the life of Realtor® Maren Brisson-Kuester

Since 2003, Maren Brisson-Kuester has been a top producer with Cottingham Chalk Hayes Realtors®. In her over 13 years in the business, she’s helped hundreds of buyers and sellers realize their dream of homeownership. She is active at the local Realtor® board serving as president of the Charlotte Regional Realtor® Association and CarolinaMLS.

She’s more than a real estate agent. She’s a Realtor®, which means she holds herself to a high professional standard when working with clients, associates and other Realtors®. Her goal is to make every transaction a successful one, but if problems arise she’s the perfect person for the job because Realtors® Make It Right.

A typical day is anything but typical for Brisson-Kuester. Good luck keeping up with this spunky, smart and busy Realtor®.  One look at this day in the life and we are pretty sure you are going to need a nap (we did).

4:30 a.m. Time to hit the gym. This is a great time to think about the open house I’m planning for my new listing this weekend. It’s a great house!

5:30 a.m. Responding to emails from clients. One is from a younger buyer so he doesn’t have a long credit history, but I have some great resources to help. Sending information his way. He’s ready to buy his first home and I’m ready to help.

8:30 a.m. Met with a new client ready to downsize. I gave her the Working with Real Estate Agents brochure so she knows exactly what to expect and explained how the process works. We are meeting next week for a walk through of her Dilworth bungalow.

10 a.m. Head to the office to tackle some paperwork. I finish my Comparable Market Analysis (CMA) for a young couple who are ready to move up. They’ve been in their NoDa home for three years and are ready to start a family. They are eager to know what their home is worth and I have the stats and experience to confidently explain how to get the most value out of their home.

Noon – Lunch? No time. Client is flying in from Connecticut and wants to look at homes today. His daughter moved to Charlotte two years ago and he and his wife are ready to be closer to her. We talk for a long time. It is important I understand what my client is looking for, how the purchase fits into their financial goals and what type of home would make them happy. Headed to the airport, wish me luck!

3 p.m. Very excited. One of my clients is ready to make an offer on his first house. I’m prepping the paperwork and providing him with all the information he needs so he can make a decision he can feel good about. We will spend most of the afternoon reviewing the contract. Whether I’m working with a first time home buyer or someone purchasing their 10th home, every client needs to know exactly what they are signing.

5:30 p.m. Received three calls from Realtors® wanting to make an offer on a house for sale in Lake Norman. My clients will be very excited. There is a problem with the moving date. They need to be moved out of this home long before some of these buyers want to close. Time to get on the phone with all parties and try to come to an agreement.

7 p.m. Dinner, homework (for kids), laundry, family time.

9 p.m. Kids are in bed, time to get a few more things ready for the day ahead before doing it all again tomorrow.

The day follows one of Brisson-Kuester’s favorite quotes from Khalil Gibran, “Yesterday is but today’s memory, and tomorrow is today’s dream.”

Back to making more dreams come true tomorrow. Sleep well.
