In celebration of Professor Rubik’s 72nd birthday, Discovery Place is hosting a Rubik’s Cube Cake-Off, inspired by Cube enthusiasts who have baked Rubik’s Cube cakes around the world. The colorful contest is coming to Discovery Place Saturday, July 23 and you can be part of the fun.

Below are five ways to get your cake boss on at Discovery Place.

Show the world – and that cube – you’ve got this.

. The contest is FREE and advance registration is required but you were born to do this. Local bakeries and chefs of all ages will showcase their creations, why not you?

Let the six-sided cube inspire you

As you meditate on the red, yellow, green, blue, white and orange squares, let your creativity flow. Your soon-to-be-famous creation must incorporate the theme Beyond Rubik’s Cube, can be made of any material and DOES NOT have to be edible. Pass the construction pap and glue gun please.

Act like the boss’s boss

If this colorful cake-off isn’t your thing, you can still join the fun.
