Arts Spotlight: Elder Gallery [Partner]
In just over 15 years Elder Gallery has evolved into one of the region’s most progressive contemporary art galleries. Its expansive exhibition space is filled with paintings, drawings, sculptures, and ceramics created by American artists. Don’t let the museum-looking appearance fool you. The gallery is informal, comfortable, and welcoming to those wishing to experience the thrill of viewing and purchasing original artwork. Representing over 30 artists, Elder Gallery takes pride in selecting artists with exceptional talent and educating visitors on the merits of their work. The gallery features monthly exhibitions of some of the country’s most talented artists. Gallery owner Larry Elder is founder and producer of one of the nation’s most successful juried art competitions, Carolina’s Got Art! New this year is an art program designed exclusively for millennials and offers opportunities for networking and learning about art in a fun, casual environment. The owner believes that the arts can improve a child’s academic success, teach empathy and compassion, act as a stabilizer for failing neighborhoods, and increase tourism for our city.
