Arts Spotlight: Lark and Key Gallery [Partner]
Established in 2008, Lark & Key Gallery and Boutique is celebrated for its diverse selection of paintings and functional art from over 30 local, regional, and national artists. Owners Sandy Snead and Duy Huynh interweave a calming and rustic sensibility with an eye toward the slightly whimsical, the subtly surreal, and nature inspired. The gallery walls are filled with stories to ponder and dreamscapes to get lost in, including Huynh’s own poetic paintings, the modern day fairy tales of Mary Alayne Thomas, and encaustic assemblages by Janet Eskridge. Other core artists include Elizabeth Foster, Judy Klich, Bridgette Guerzon Mills, Angie Renfro, Kendra Baird Runnels, and Vicki Sawyer. Artwork is complemented by an array of local and regional pottery from artisans such as Jim Connell, Julie Covington, Jennifer Mecca, Amy Sanders, Andrew Stephenson, and Julie Wiggins. Hand-blown glass, handmade jewelry, and paper goods round out the selection. Lark & Key, located in Charlotte’s South End neighborhood, offers an inviting space for first time buyers, long-term collectors, gift seekers, and fine craft scavengers to explore.
