The 8th Charlotte Film Festival is back September 22 through October 2 and invites you to “Discover Different.” Films are shown at the beautiful Ayrsley Grand Cinemas located near restaurants, entertainment and great places to mix and mingle. With over 80 films this year, we know you will find a winner.

We give you the Oscar for not missing this phenomenal event. If you need more convincing we say lights, camera….you know the rest.

Watch, meet and greet

Friday, September 23  is opening night and a great way to get over your Brad and Angelina breakup woes. Check out the East Coast premiere of “Trespass Against Us,” hang out with festival organizers and rub shoulders with film makers.

If you want to test the film festival waters, check out these two free community screenings. “Real Boy” is a documentary about a transgender teenager trying to find his way. “MS STUBNITZ: 24.9 Years of Marine (Sub) Culture & Fishing Music” is a documentary feature that takes audiences aboard a former industrial fishing boat turned concert, club and art exhibition ship. You had me at documentary.

The film festival is the perfect answer to  “What should we do this weekend?” Tickets for film showings start at $10 and you can choose from day or evening events. Or spring for the $150 All-Access Pass which includes all screenings, access to the Filmmaker Lounge, special events and much more. Very red carpet.
