Today marks the first day of fall. Bring on the cooler weather (please!), all things pumpkin flavored and the changing colors of the leaves. Although summer is now behind us – except for the weather – we wanted to do a “Top 5” list courtesy of our friends at DoorDash to commemorate the summer of 2016.

1. Everything tastes better with bacon: Charlotteans are in love with the bacon cheeseburger from Red Robin. Some ordered side salads to make a balanced meal, while others went for it with a side of fries and an epic dessert.
2. The green life: With the opening of two CHOP’T locations in Charlotte, people couldn’t get enough of the Chicken Tinga salad. With just the right amount of kick from the Mexican Goddess dressing and crunch from the tortilla chips, customers ordered this again and again.
3. Summer vegetables for the win: The ancient grain salad from The Asbury was a fresh and cool option for customers on hot summer days. The roasted tomato vinaigrette served over kale and summer vegetables kept things light but absolutely delicious.
4. Let the good times roll: The summer rolls from Pho Plus were making taste buds happy this summer. The shrimp-filled rolls, delicious on their own, were made that much better because they were served with the Pho Plus peanut butter sauce.
5. Summer BBQ: There is nothing better than BBQ in the summer and Charlotteans agree. The Hickory smoked pulled pork from City Smoke was a top order for neighborhood cookouts and quiet nights at home with family.
