Susan G. Komen kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On October 1, Susan G. Komen Charlotte’s Race for the Cure kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The local nonprofit raised nearly $1 million among 10,000 participants and 20,000 total people in and around Marshall Park.

This may only be the beginning in a month where people are looking to donate to Komen Charlotte to support breast cancer awareness. Your donations do more than you might think on a day-to-day basis for patients in the Queen City. Of the funds raised, 75% stay right here in Charlotte and surrounding communities, while the other 25% funds research.
