Pride Awards 2017 ready to roll, Habitat Charlotte to receive monetary donation [Partner]
Pride Awards 2017 is set for Saturday, January 14th at the Westin Charlotte! This year’s theme, “Building Communities – Changing Lives,” will be a collaboration with Charlotte’s Habitat for Humanity, highlighting the West Boulevard Corridor and its Reid Park Neighborhood.
The achievements of Rickey Hall, Reid Park and West Boulevard Corridor’s current neighborhood leader, will be celebrated along with the accomplishments of a college-bound high school “Habitat senior,” chosen by the Pride Awards selection committee. The annual monetary donation will be made to Habitat Charlotte.
“As the Queen City continues to deal with issues of social mobility, Pride Magazine is pleased to shine the spotlight on Charlotte’s own Habitat for Humanity and the remarkable work it has done in Reid Park and beyond,” says Dee Dixon, President and CEO of Pride Communications. “This year’s gala will truly be a heartwarming experience for all of the Charlotte community.”
Laura Belcher, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity Charlotte, states, “We are thrilled to be able to share our message and receive the monetary donation at the twenty-fourth annual Pride Awards Gala. Grateful for the opportunity, we look forward to a wonderful evening.”

Trade in those black ties and ball gowns for blue jeans and stilettos! In typical Pride fashion, this year’s gala will be unique, interactive and fun, starting with the dress code: “Jeans and Other Creative Things.”
A great evening of music. DJ Kool will be at the 2017 Pride Awards.
