Deadline alert! First round of CMS school choice lottery ends today [Partner]

Today – February 14, 2017 – is the deadline to enter your child in the first round of the CMS school choice lottery. You’ve probably heard a lot about CMS and the education choices for families that match students’ talents, interests and aptitude with educational options that challenge their imagination, spark their potential and open doorways to future opportunities. Well today is the day! Get hopping.

Luckily, there’s still time. Follow these steps to apply to the 2017-2018 lottery.

Enroll in CMS

Families new to CMS who want to participate in round one of the 2017-2018 lottery (round one is Friday, January 6 through Tuesday, February 14)  must have already enrolled their children with the CMS Student Placement Office between November 1, 2016 and January 24, 2017. If you have done that, time to move to step 2. If you haven’t enrolled your child in CMS, you can enroll before March 15 to apply for Round 2 of the lottery.

Research schools and magnet programs

Hopefully you’ve had time to learn about the many offerings and focus areas within CMS options and magnets and visit these great schools. Your child can learn their ABC’s and 123’s along with computer coding, a foreign language, performing arts, STEM skills, public safety and more. Pretty cool huh?

Choose up to three options

Now that you’ve done some research, list your top three choices that best match your child’s interests and talents. You will list your choices when completing the lottery application.

Submit lottery application by February 14 (today)

Good job, you made the deadline. We give you an A plus! Your child. Your school. Your choice.
