Mostly sunny in Charlotte Wednesday

The Charlotte area is expected to remain mostly sunny Wednesday with a high of 89 and a slim chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service.

Ditto the rest of the week, as the chance of rain and thunderstorms increases only slightly moving into the July 4 holiday weekend.

Highs are expected to reach 89 again Thursday and Friday before climbing to 90 on Saturday and 92 Sunday, according to the weather service.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms increases from 30 percent Wednesday to 40 percent Thursday, 50 percent Friday and then back down to 40 percent Saturday and 30 percent Sunday.
