Animal parents have many of the same struggles as humans when it comes to keeping up with their children. Just ask one mother duck whose ducklings somehow got trapped under a storm drain. Luckily for this flock, a kind woman heard their cries and decided to help them out.

Sheetia, who goes by @itssheetia on TikTok, captured the whole encounter on video. Honestly, this situation plays out like a soap opera you can't turn off with Sheetia as our narrator. As she stated, "I almost got attacked so many times, but we did it . The ducks were saved!!." Press play to go on this journey and find out how she helped get these ducklings out of this scary situation.

A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke

What a wild ride! "I like this episode of the young and the duckless , wrote @cottynkhandi in the comments. Sheetia found a duck and several ducklings outside, but quickly discovered three ducks were trapped under the drain. Ducks can be territorial when protecting their kids, so she approached the drain carefully in case the adult duck attacked.

Speaking of being territorial, another adult duck showed up, whom Sheetia believed was the ducklings' mother by how upset she was. "Children stress every species of mother out ," declared @cultivating_you, and mama seemed stressed. Who wouldn't be if their babysitter let their ducklings fall down a drain? And this wasn't the first time! From then on, mama rounded up her ducklings and kept a watchful eye on the drain and Sheetia.

Thankfully, Sheetia's older sister came to the rescue, and this all happened on the sister's birthday, too. Big sis opened up the drain and used a dustpan to scoop up the little ducklings one by one.

A Reason Ducks Wag Their Tail Feathers

As each made their way over to mom, she started shaking her tail feathers at the ladies. @gxlyia mentioned, "I looked it up, and ducks wag their tails when they're happy or excited, so this is so cute." The Cape Coop website confirms that a wagging tail can mean ducks are happy or excited, much like with dogs. In this case, mama duck was probably showing her gratitude to Sheetia and her sister for their help.

Like mom, viewers were glad there was a happy ending to this tale. "Did I just sit here and watch like this animal channel , joked @misslibrasofly, and @_jennw rated this story, "Videography 10/10, Commentary 10/10, Successful Rescue Mission 10/10 ." I think I speak for everyone when I say, please stay out of trouble, ducklings!
