Internet Obsessed With How Orange Cat Gets To Celebrate 20th Birthday

A senior orange cat celebrating his 20th birthday has captured the attention of millions after a video showing his unusual birthday "cake" went viral on Instagram.

The clip, shared in February under the username @way_of_the_cat_, shows the ginger kitty, named Orville, sitting patiently at a table while his family marks the milestone occasion. In front of him is a full rotisserie chicken topped with two lit candles shaped as the numbers two and zero, marking his 20th birthday.

As the video begins, Orville appears eager to dig into his birthday treat. He leans toward the chicken, clearly interested, but his owners stop him before he can begin eating. They hold him back so they can first cut a piece and clean it for him, ensuring he can eat safely.

Layover text on the video reads: "Orville turns 20. No loud birthday music. Original audio." As the moment unfolds, someone behind the camera can be heard speaking to the cat, saying, "Happy birthday buddy we love you."

The post's caption says: "Happy birthday Orville! 20 years old!"

While chicken is perfectly fine for cats-only when cooked, plain and cleaned of any bones-many other human foods should be avoided because often lacks the nutrients they need and can be harmful.

Cats are obligate carnivores requiring a balanced, meat-based diet with specific nutrients like taurine. Some vegetables and meats can be given occasionally, although they must be plain, cooked, and boneless, and only part of a balanced diet.

Many human foods are unsafe or toxic. These include chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, and raw meat or eggs. Dairy can also cause digestive issues as many cats are lactose intolerant.

Foods like canned tuna should only be given rarely due to high salt and lack of nutrients. Experts suggest feeding your cat veterinary approved commercial diets.

The relaxed and affectionate celebration quickly struck a chord with viewers. The video spread rapidly across the platform, drawing widespread attention for its wholesome and humorous moment centered on a beloved older pet.

So far, the clip has received more than 4.8 million views and 678,000 likes on Instagram, highlighting the continued popularity of pet-centered content on social media.

One user, Schmeatballer, commented: "Give him the f****** chicken right now."

Aotkpta said: "If I EVER find out that he was not given the ENTIRE chicken, we're finding these people."

Mwr0585 added: "My cat wouldn't be as chill then again he'd sell me out for chicken."
