Xbox Stuns With New Logo Days After Price Drop
Earlier this week, Xbox announced a change in price that runs counter to nearly every streaming platform or technology-driven entity in today's market: a price DROP.
"Starting today, Game Pass Ultimate drops from $29.99 to $22.99 a month. PC Game Pass will also drop from $16.49 to $13.99 a month. Prices may vary by region," Xbox announced.
"Beginning this year, future Call of Duty titles won't join Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch. New Call of Duty games will be added to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass during the following holiday season (about a year later), while existing Call of Duty titles already in the library will continue to be available."
Just two days later, Xbox dropped another big change.
Xbox Changes Its Logo, Promises Return to Gaming
In a new memo to employees, EVP and CEO, Microsoft Gaming Asha Sharma dropped a new logo for Xbox and announced its next initiative.
"Xbox will be where the world plays and creates. We will build a global platform that connects players and creators everywhere," she promised. "Console is at the foundation, delivering a premium experience, and cloud brings that experience to any device. You can play where you want, and your games, progress, friends, and identity stay with you across console, PC, mobile, and cloud."
She added, "Xbox will be built to be affordable, personal, and open. We will offer flexible pricing so it's easy to get started and keep playing. The experience will adapt to you, letting you customize how you play, helping you find what you'll love, and connecting you with the right people. And we will be open to all creators, from individuals to the largest studios, giving anyone the tools to reach a global audience and keep their games growing over time."
New Logo Sparks Fan Reaction
Xbox's new logo harkened back to its inception, aligning with Sharma's promise to deliver a most cost-effective and coordinated approach to gaming rather than diving head first into corporate greed.
Fans responded in kind.

Reactions to the new logo came flooding in on social media.
"First time seeing a W logo change I see they were inspired by Apple's Liquid Glass design. A total 180 from the 'minimalism' that's ruled the world for the last decade. Hope other brands add some soul to their logos too," one social media account noted.
"80,000 likes in 4 hours, People are EXCITED for Xbox!!!" offered another.
A return to glory for Xbox?
