Angel Reese Shows Support for Megan Thee Stallion on Social Media After Klay Thompson Breakup

Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese has shown support for Megan Thee Stallion after her breakup with Dallas Mavericks guard Klay Thompson.

On Saturday, Megan Thee Stallion made headlines when she seemingly accused Thompson of cheating on her in an Instagram story. Soon after, the award-winning singer confirmed to TMZ that her relationship with Thompson was over.

Through a representative, Megan Thee Stallion issued the following statement to TMZ:

"I've made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there's no real path forward. I'm taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity."

It appears that the two-time All-Star is fully supporting Megan, too. Angel Reese reposted this X post from @metanswoo, a Megan Thee Stallion fan account:

Thompson and Megan confirmed their relationship in July of last year. A four-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors, Thompson previously had a two-year relationship with actress Laura Harrier.

In his second season with the Mavericks, Thompson averaged 11.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. Dallas finished 26-56, missing the postseason for the second consecutive year.

Angel Reese Soon Begins Her First Season With Atlanta

On April 6, the Chicago Sky traded Angel Reese to the Atlanta Dream for 2027 and 2028 first-round picks. Reese, who turns 24 on May 6, had been vocal about her frustrations with Chicago's struggles on the court in 2025.

Due to her comments, Sky suspended Reese for one half in a game against the Las Vegas Aces. In her second season, Reese averaged 14.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

Reese will join an Atlanta team that is coming off a third straight postseason appearance. They were eliminated in the opening round by the Indiana Fever last season.

Atlanta will kick off its 2026 regular season with a road game against the Minnesota Lynx on May 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Their first home game in the Reese era will be on May 17 against Las Vegas.
