Furniture chain coming to Hickory, renovating former Bed, Bath & Beyond

Bob's Discount Furniture, a furniture store chain with more than 200 locations around the country, is expected to open a store in Hickory this summer.

Bob's will operate out of the former Bed, Bath & Beyond building at 1835 Catawba Valley Boulevard, according to Bob's Discount Furniture. Bed, Bath & Beyond closed its Hickory store in 2023.

The furniture chain entered the North Carolina market in 2025. The company has six stores in the state, with two more coming soon to Charlotte. Each store has a complimentary café with coffee, cookies, candy and ice cream, according to the company.
