This Chihuahua and Dachshund Duo Are Served a Puppy 'Pawella'-and It's Just Adorable
If you're hungry, get ready to feel even hungrier. This dog parent has prepared a delicious, home-cooked meal for her dogs, Cedric and Edith, a dachshund and a Chihuahua mix. The meal is a puppy "pawella." An adapted meal for puppies inspired by the traditional Spanish dish, paella, which is typically prepared in a wide, shallow pan, featuring rice, vegetables, and various types of protein, such as chicken and seafood.
In the video, Cedric and Edith patiently wait as their food is prepared - they even make time for a quick nap while the meal cooks. Adorable, right?

Cedric and Edith's mother starts by seasoning the chicken and shrimp with turmeric and beet powder. First, she adds the chicken to the pan and, once it's cooked, adds it to a plate. Then she repeats the process with the shrimp. Once the chicken and shrimp are cooked, she uses the same pan to sauté sliced bell peppers, rice, and riced cauliflower, adding water to the mixture. Finally, she adds the cooked chicken and seasons the ingredients with "doggy nutrients."

While she brings the mixture to a boil, the puppies are served strawberry "pawgria," inspired by the Spanish and Portuguese sangria. The original recipe calls for red wine and chopped fruit, but for Cedric and Edith, their mother served a dog-appropriate recipe: beet, coconut water and strawberry. They even had their drink in a little wine glass-how cute is that? And Cedric seemed to love the recipe because when he finished his drink, he even had some of Edith's glass. Sharing is caring!
When the ingredients are ready, Cedric and Edith's mother garnishes the pan with the cooked shrimp and mussels. She closes the pan to finish cooking the meal, then sprinkles basil on the dish. The puppies are then served on a little plate, appropriate for their size.
