English Bulldog Jupiter Takes His Chore Duties Very Seriously When Mom Asks for Help
Pet parents know that most dogs have a favorite human, and for this English Bulldog named Jupiter, it's definitely Mom. His parents decided to put that loyalty to the test to see if he'd be willing to help with chores, and his response makes it pretty clear who he's always ready to lend a paw to.
After a grocery run, Dad and Jupiter head out to help bring the bags inside. When Dad tries to hand him one to carry, he acts like he has better things to do. But the moment Mom asks? His attitude gives off an entirely different vibe!
@jupiterthebulldog When mama needs help, I'll be there Dad, you got hands and legs. #jupiterthebulldog

We laughed when Jupiter's mom said in the caption what he was probably thinking: "When Mama needs help, I'll be there. Dad, you got hands and legs." That pretty much describes his whole attitude!

Why Dogs Love 'Helping' Their Humans
Does your pup follow you around while you're doing chores and "help," whether you want it or not? We live on a property surrounded by hundred-year-old trees, so there are always sticks and branches to pick up and move to the woodpile for the fire pit. Our dog's favorite job is "helping" by dragging those branches right back into the middle of the lawn where she thinks they belong. It's not helpful at all, but she's so proud of herself that it's hard to tell her no.
If that sounds familiar, there's a reason behind it. Dogs are naturally social, pack-oriented animals, wired to work together and stay close to their group. They're also incredibly loyal and eager to please, so jumping in to "help" their humans comes naturally.
Teaching your pooch how to help and letting them be part of what you're doing can actually be great for them. According to K-9 Connect, it provides mental stimulation and physical exercise, and helps strengthen the bond between dogs and their families.
And let's be honest, it's also a fun party trick. As they point out, who wouldn't want to show off a dog who can fetch the TV remote or open or close a door on command?
