This Dog Looks Like a Tiny Newfoundland on Corgi Legs, and We Can't Stop Staring
Some dog breed mixes are surprising to see, but this one has people doing a serious double-take. Thanks to his fluffy coat, stretched-out body, and tiny legs, this adorable Newfoundland dog-Welsh Corgi mix looks exactly like a Newfoundland that somehow got shrunk down to half its size.
Lila, the dog's mom, shared a video of him on TikTok that's getting a lot of attention. She knew she was bringing home a Newfoundland mix, but she had no idea what he was actually going to look like. Honestly, his proportions look hilariously wrong in the best possible way, and the longer you look at him, the funnier and cuter he gets.
@aliltosty I thought he'd be bigger than this #newfoundlanddog#mixbreed#corgi#fyp

Lila said in the caption, "I thought he'd be bigger," but we think he's perfect!

Why Mixed Breed Dogs Can Look So Unexpected
Lila's video has racked up more than 2 million views and over 1,600 comments, and some of them cracked us up. @Sarah Brennan earned more than 66,000 likes when she shared, "Anything mixed with a Corgi is just a Corgi wearing the other breed's jacket."
Another commenter joked, "He's a handsome coffee table." @Corgi mama received 48,000 likes when she said, "That is a Newforgi. Very rare. Not…sure how it worked, physically." Lila replied, "Well his mother was the Corgi… if that helps."
We laughed when @Katie said, "Congratulations on your Temu package." @imabioarcheologist asked, "Is he an Incorgnito?" @Cardan's Wife added, "Why is he in lowercase?!"
According to Purina, there's actually a difference between mixed-breed and crossbreed Dogs. "A crossbreed dog has parents of different and distinct breeds," the company explains. With crossbreeds, the parent breeds are usually known, unlike mixed-breed dogs where the lineage may be unknown.
Purina also notes that when it comes to appearance and personality, "the way these dogs look (and behave) is a gamble." Puppies from the same litter can look completely different depending on which genes they inherit most strongly.
The company says that bringing home a mixed breed puppy is "a voyage of discovery – and an unpredictable one at that," and Lila's dog definitely proves it.
