High Point Market showroom buildings owner Andmore plans CEO transition
Andmore, owner of the main High Point Market home furnishings showroom buildings, announced the planned retirement of chief executive Jon Pertchik on May 31.
The privately held group holds a 16-building portfolio in High Point containing more than 6.7 million gross square feet, which includes the International Home Furnishings Center, Showtime and Market Square facilities.
Pertchik's retirement is part of an executive management transition by Andmore.
Stepping down from Andmore, also on May 31, are: Katie Potter, chief strategy officer and general counsel; and Landon Williams, chief technology officer.
The market, which is closed to the public, typically attracts to its April and October trade shows between 75,000 and 80,000 manufacturers, exhibitors, importers, retailers, designers and industry officials.
The latest economic-impact study on the market estimated a $6.7 billion annual contribution to the North Carolina economy, primarily in High Point and the Triad.
Andmore, formerly known as International Market Centers, was acquired in 2017 by Blackstone and Fireside Investments.
The group's board of directors, led by executive chairman and industry veteran Bob Maricich, has established an executive committee that will manage the company during the search for the next chief executive.
Committee members are: Amory Wooden, recently promoted as chief revenue officer; Greg Avitabile, recently named as president and chief operations officer; Robert Klein, chief financial officer; and Ximena Juncosa, chief human resources officer.
"The executive committee will assume expanded responsibilities to help strengthen Andmore's operating structure and align the business around its most critical priorities," according to a news release.
"This new structure is designed to put that talent in the driver's seat to move the business forward most effectively," Pertchik said. "I have full confidence in what comes next and believe the best is yet to come with this team."
Altogether, Andmore owns and operates more than 20 million square feet of home furnishings market and trade show real estate when counting three main buildings and three exhibition pavilions in Las Vegas, AmericasMart Atlanta and Atlanta Decorative Arts Center, and space in New York City.
Andmore and International Market Centers have spent more than $280 million on capital investments on its properties, including at least $115 million in High Point.
