Mission Hospital McDowell celebrates EMS Week with appreciation luncheon

Mission Hospital McDowell recently hosted a luncheon to recognize and celebrate local Emergency Medical Services professionals during National EMS Week, including McDowell County EMS and other regional EMS partners.

The event honored the dedication, skill and compassion EMS teams bring to the community every day as they answer calls for emergencies, provide lifesaving care and serve as first responders in the healthcare system, according to a news release from the hospital.

As part of EMS Week celebrations, Mission Hospital McDowell CEO Lee Higginbotham and hospital team members also delivered gift baskets to EMS Headquarters in McDowell County as a token of appreciation for their continued partnership and service.

"Mission Hospital McDowell is proud to recognize and celebrate the McDowell County EMS professionals whose service, commitment and sacrifice help keep western North Carolina communities safe and healthy," reads the news release.
