This Gorgeous Black Palm Cockatoo Had Everyone at Hello
Some birds are cute.
Some birds are funny.
And then there are the ones who walk in looking like they know they belong on a velvet throne with a candlelit introduction and their own camera crew. Black Palm Cockatoos have that exact energy. They're dramatic, ancient-looking, wildly beautiful, and built in a way that makes every other bird seem like they forgot to accessorize.
@parrots_r_us The best question ever! You had me at "Hi!" Does he have an Instagram Maui the Black Palm Cockatoo winning hearts at Hello
Golden Hour - Melissa Voyias
Maui is one of those birds.
In the video, a woman is holding him when he simply says, "Hi," and that's all it takes. She's immediately gone. Not mildly charmed. Gone. Fully smitten, asking the only logical question after an entrance like that: Does this bird have Instagram? Honestly, fair. If a creature that stunning says hello to you in person, the next step is absolutely to assume he has a content strategy and a decent following.
And Maui looks like he should.
He's gorgeous in that slightly unbelievable way certain birds can be. That giant beak, that moody dark coloring, that expression like he has seen empires rise and fall but is still willing to flirt a little. One commenter basically just short-circuited into calling him gorgeous, with several alarmed heart-eye emojis, which also feels fair. That's the effect he has.
No trick routine. No elaborate bit. Just one "Hi," one look, and the entire room is done for. That is real star power. It's also why we immediately went and watched the rest of his videos, because a bird like that doesn't feel like a one-clip wonder. He feels like someone with lore.
He says hello, and suddenly you want to know everything. What is his day like? What else does he say? Does he know he's devastating? Almost certainly.
Why Black Palm Cockatoos Feel So Striking
Black Palm Cockatoos stand out because they really are unusual. They're one of the largest Cockatoos in the world, with powerful beaks, dramatic crests, and an unmistakable look that makes them feel almost prehistoric. According to the San Diego Zoo, they're also known for complex behavior and tool use, which only adds to their mystique.
One "Hi" from Maui, and suddenly, everybody in the room was auditioning to be his publicist.
