Great Danes often seem really intimidating at first. They're huge! The size difference between them and other pets is definitely daunting when you first see it, but pretty quickly, they show their true colors. These dogs are just big babies: they're the gentlest giants around!

Recently, one Great Dane got to meet a bunch of Maine Coon kittens, and his excitement was contagious. He couldn't contain herself! These kittens have no idea just how much love this big dog has to give:

First of all, Euro Maine Coons has some very beautiful kittens. Second, and maybe more importantly, that Great Dane looks exactly like Scooby Doo. He's even wearing Scooby's signature teal collar! These kittens are so lucky to have him.

The Great Dane, named Scooby, lasted five whole days without seeing the kittens. That might be a record for him: he lives in this Florida-based cattery, and welcoming the kittens is his favorite part!

This litter is 6 kittens, and their mom loves to move them around from place to place. It's at the point that their followers are taking bets on if she'll move them overnight or not. In this video, she didn't: she must have known Scooby would want to meet them bright and early the next day! When the cats grow up, they learn one more thing with Scooby:

He's so nice, letting them play with his tail like that. My dogs don't even let anyone touch their tails!

Great Danes Are Great With Kittens

While not every household can handle a Great Dane, they're amazing companions. They might be huge, but they have huge hearts to match!

Great Danes take up a lot of space, but they're shy and non-confrontational, making them good companions for:

  • Other dogs.
  • Kids.
  • Cats.

Though Great Danes are playful, they also love to rest: being that big is exhausting. Whether you've got a kitty looking for a snuggle buddy or one who's looking for someone to climb, a Great Dane is a great choice. Just be warned that they will be sitting in your lap!
