Spring is baby season in the animal kingdom, and one proud groundhog mom is making the most of it. TikToker Allee G (@alleemakeup) was delighted when she discovered that a new groundhog mom had chosen the space beneath her deck as a safe place to raise her seven babies, and the internet is just as smitten with the furry family as she is.

In this adorable video, the mama emerges with all seven babies in tow to enjoy a buffet of fruit that Allee left out for them. As the little groundhogs nibble away, they sit upright on their hind legs, looking absolutely adorable as they snack alongside their siblings. Trust us: watching seven tiny groundhogs enjoy a snack together is guaranteed to brighten your day.

Allee shared in the caption, "Mama groundhog had 7 babies under my deck this spring, and now my whole personality is 'groundhog'."

We totally get it! We'd be doing the exact same thing she's doing. In a follow-up video, she made everybody smile when she shared that she actually sweeps the sidewalk off before placing their buffet on the ground every evening because "it's polite to clean for guests."

How Many Babies Do Groundhogs Usually Have?

Like us, commenters couldn't get over the cuteness. Many even shared photos of the groundhog families living in their own yards. One viewer offered an interesting fact, writing, "By 10 weeks, they leave Mom to make their own burrows."

According to Operation Wildlife, groundhog breeding season runs from early March through late April, shortly after the animals emerge from hibernation. After a 32-day gestation period, females typically give birth in April or May. While the male and female share a den during pregnancy, the male usually leaves before the babies are born.

Groundhogs have just one litter each year, typically consisting of two to six babies, though larger litters do happen. The babies are born blind and nearly hairless, but grow quickly. Most are weaned and ready to venture out on their own by five to six weeks of age.

And here's a fun fact: groundhogs and woodchucks are actually the same animal. They're both members of the marmot family, though not all marmots are groundhogs. No matter what you call them, it's hard to resist a mama showing off her babies.
