Aldi's $8 Structured Doormats Will Welcome Guests but Ban the Dirt They Trail With Them
A doormat can be an impactful detail in an entryway. You can either build a theme around it or let it accent your theme. I admittedly always thought of them as aesthetic enhancers rather than utilitarian tools. Well, that was until I had a kid. Then the flimsy seasonal doormats I popped out every month or so became useless to me. Pretty? Sure. But good at keeping dirt on the outside where it belongs? Absolutely not.
That's why when I shop for doormats now, they have to be structured and textured. This way, when my son drags his baseball cleats across them, there is a chance that the field dirt doesn't wander into my home. But finding ones that are cute, effective, and affordable is not easy. That is, unless you find yourself at Aldi on June 24.

Kirkton House 20x36 Structured Doormat, $7.99 at Aldi
This simple rubber-backed design can complement so many different spring and summer entryways. The sturdiness allows it to do its job of keeping your floors clean while remaining weather-resistant, making it long-lasting and easy to clean. The Kirkton House 20x36 Structured Doormat comes in three styles starting June 24, including a geometric Medallions Denim Blue, a botanical Green Leaves, and a hazel filigree option emblazoned with the word "Welcome."

Make It Look Good
The styling potential for each is also rather inspiring:
- Green Leaves: Consider hanging a succulent-inspired wreath on the front door and placing large pots filled with easy-care succulents at either end of the porch. You could keep the design clean and green, or add pops of a rich purple to the wreath to really make the green pattern stand out.
- Denim Blue: Perfect for summertime, this design lets you really lean into a modern nautical theme. Consider hanging a weathered wooden anchor on the door and adding beachy porch accents, such as seashell-shaped pillows or nautical iron lanterns.
- Hazel Welcome: This grayish color is slightly challenging to style, but it looks fabulous when paired with a creamy, buttery yellow. Consider layering the structured mat directly on top of a larger, yellow-and-white striped base rug, anchored by a sleek concrete planter full of yellow pansies. Instead of a standard wreath, hang a yellow pennant or boho-chic tassels from the doorknob, and accent the space with a fabulous brass bird door knocker.
Or, if you'd rather admire your handiwork from indoors, that works beautifully too. These high-utility mats have so much potential that you might as well snag all three.
