"Reasons I'm convinced our show golden and red retriever are two completely different breeds," the video caption reads, with an extra caption below that adds, "the red ones are extra spicy."

The sweet, golden girl, a show-bred dog named Pacha, "loves her alone time." We watch as she relaxes in the sun on the home's back deck. Of course, as soon as she's comfortable, here comes Bucket the red retriever to get all up in her business.

Bucket "wakes up early to go 'hunting'" and brings her parents a duck toy as a gift. Pacha, meanwhile, "wakes up late just to get stuck in the blinds," and we see the silly dog tangled up in the window dressing.

Bucket is athletic, while Pacha often falls off the couch. Bucket is extra friendly with other dogs, and Pacha sticks to herself, thank you very much.

It would be easy to say Pacha is the straightman and Bucket is the clown, but honestly, both of them look fun and silly from where we're standing, with lots of personality.

"You see, one is a potato, and the other is a yam," one commenter jokes.

"That's the difference between show and work lines," another laughs.

"They balance each other out perfectly!" another says, and we agree.

What Is the Real Difference Between a Standard Golden Retriever and a Red Retriever?

When it comes down to it, both of these retrievers are golden retrievers; they just have a different coloration on their coat.

Both standard golden retrievers and red retrievers can be purebred dogs; they just happen to have darker or lighter fur. The standard golden color is what folks look for in show dogs, which explains why Pacha has that history, while red-colored retrievers can actually be penalized by show-dog standards, according to the American Kennel Club.

Red Retrievers, meanwhile, are often bred to work the trails as hunters, so they tend to have leaner frames and shorter coats, which makes it easier for them to maneuver through heavy brush.

These two dogs are really the same breed, but this just goes to show there's plenty of room for personality in every dog you bring home.
