Mom's Clever Solution to Her Corgi's Gross Habit Has Pet Parents Applauding
Anyone who's ever had a dog knows they can develop some... let's call them interesting... habits. For 11-year-old Corgi Cody, that habit involved snacking on something his mom, Steph, desperately wanted him to avoid: cat poop he found in the yard.
After moving to a new home, Steph quickly realized the property was full of unwelcome "treats" left behind by stray and feral cats. She tried everything she could think of to keep Cody from gobbling them up, but nothing seemed to work. That's when she came up with a surprisingly simple solution that's equal parts hilarious and ingenious, and pet parents everywhere are applauding her!
@egg.pudding temporary fix because one bite of cat poop is one too many fyi we have STRAY/feral cats in the neighborhood. we just moved here so who knows how long these kitty nuggets have been hiding in the grass! they also look like rocks so they're hard for me to find and the kitties keep coming back also this is a loose, breathable mosquito net meant for humans to wear when fishing or outdoors! he's only outside when supervised and is a bougie boy who likes AC and is always velcroed to my side. #corgi#doghack

Steph definitely gets an A+ for creativity!

Why Do Dogs Eat Cat Poop?
According to the American Kennel Club, as disgusting as it sounds to us, eating cat feces, a behavior known as coprophagia, is actually fairly common in dogs.
"While you might think cat poop smells gross, it probably smells like cat food to your dog. Since normal cat food appeals to a dog's sense of smell, and many dogs love to eat cat food, this may be one of the reasons they're so eager to snack on cat feces."
This behavior can also pose health risks. It exposes dogs to parasites and harmful bacteria, so experts recommend preventing access whenever possible by blocking off litter boxes or keeping dogs away from areas outdoors where cats frequently leave their droppings.
