Storytelling, resume skills
Skills with Soul is a half-day of workshops, 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 29, hosted by Holy Covenant United Church of Christ, 3501 West W.T. Harris Blvd. Former Charlotte Observer columnist Tommy Tomlinson will lead a workshop on the fundamentals of great storytelling, and how to use them to tell the story you want to tell. The 15 workshops include sessions on writing effective resumes, bridging the gap between parents and teens, financial planning and staying safe on the Internet. Suggested donation of $10 for individuals and $25 for families of three or more includes the workshops, lunch and child care if needed.
