Uptown lunch report: Barbecue spot closes for a little while
Make your lunch plans accordingly: One of uptown Charlotte’s popular barbecue spots will be closed for a few weeks.
Queen City Q, which also has locations in Matthews and Concord, will close its original location uptown, 225 E. 6th St., until Aug. 28 for repairs and interior renovations.
“We recently renewed our commitment to uptown with a new lease, so we wanted to invest in an updated look that will be more comfortable for guests and also more efficient for us,” said managing partner Bryan Meredith. “It’s also a great time when things are a little slower.”
Of course, slower is relative: Besides being the offical barbecue of the Charlotte Hornets, Queen City Q will also be selling barbecue next week at Quail Hollow Club during the PGA. All catering operations will continue out of the other two locations, Meredith said.
