Matthews gets a new breakfast option starting Monday
A breakfast/brunch/lunch chain that’s planning to open several locations in Charlotte will start at 7 a.m. Monday at 1643 Matthews Township Parkway.
First Watch calls its menu “curated,” with items like smoked salmon eggs Benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes, housemade granola and (yes, yes) avocado toast. The menu also includes soups and salads at luch, and fresh juices made in house daily, including Kale Tonic, the best-seller.
Interesting to note: The Matthews location will serve Project Sunrise coffee, a new project for First Watch that uses coffee grown by Mujeres en Cafe, a group of female farmers in Huila, Colombia.
First Watch is operated locally by the franchise group Good Morning Carolinas, which plans to open 12 First Watch restaurants over five years in Charlotte, Columbia, Spartanburg and Greenville, S.C. First Watch already has four locations in North Carolina – three in Raleigh and one in Cary.
First Watch is open daily from 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and serves the entire menu all day. It also offers free newspapers (yea, ink!) and free WiFi access.
