What do you need to know right now about food in Charlotte:

New doughnuts: Local doughnut maker Courtney Buckley of Your Mom’s Donuts has announced the date and hours for her new location in Park Road Shopping Center. The stand will open at 7:30 a.m. next Wednesday, Sept. 12. After that, regular hours will be 7:30 a.m. until they’re sold out Monday-Saturday. The original shop, 11025 Monroe Road (near N.C. 51) will open at 7 a.m. Monday-Saturday, and the Monroe location, 217 N. Hayne St., is still 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.

Cheap doughnuts: Krispy Kreme is restarting its Panthers’ Monday deal. If the Panthers win, you can buy a dozen glazed doughnuts for $5.99 ($2 off the usual price of $7.99) on Monday to celebrate. For the game on Thursday, Nov. 8, the deal will still be that Monday, and for the Monday game Dec. 17, the deal will be the next day, Dec. 18. That’s if Carolina wins, of course.

Get a lunch preview: Alyssa Wilen of Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen told The Observer that she’ll serve lunch to eat in or take out in her new location, 4001-C Yancey Road this Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Prices range from $10 to $13. Wilen already is doing classes in the new space. She’ll add catering, with meals you can grab and go, the last week of September, then regular Saturday brunch service starts in October.
