It would seem strange these days to go to a local brewery and not see a food truck outside.
So we asked food truck owners to recommend beers to drink with these popular food truck foods:
Grilled cheese: Brian Stockholm, owner of the Papi Queso truck, recommends brown ales. “They have a robust character that goes great with cheese,” he said. He recommends Triple C Brewing’s Smoked Amber Ale.
Wings: Larry Swayne, owner of the Wingzza pizza and wings truck, recommends lighter, blonde ales to pair with wings. However, he said NoDa Brewing Co.’s Hop, Drop ‘n Roll, an India pale ale is popular among his wings customers.
Barbecue: George Leach, owner of OooWee BBQ truck, recommends India pale ales in the fall and winter and pale ales in the spring and summer to drink with barbecue. To drink right now: Triple C Brewing’s Zest-A-Peel.
Tacos: Grant Luckey, owner of Maki Taco, suggests India pale ales for his pan-Asian tacos and spicy Japanese hibachi fare. He likes Lenny Boy Brewing Co.’s Cheeky IPA or Birdsong Brewing Co.’s Jalapeno Pale Ale.
