Oskar Blues IPA: Tasty, smooth and drinkable
Oskar Blues Brewery is probably best known for Dale’s Pale Ale, a wonderful workhorse of a beer that goes down like an IPA. Now they’re out with an IPA that goes down like ... a pale ale. While many brewers try to outdo each other with high alcohol and hops in this department, the Oskar Blues IPA takes it easy, delivering a refreshing sprucey blast and endless drinkability that masks the moderate 6.43 ABV. It’s a lovely brew for celebrating the end of summer, but will live year ’round in the fridge just fine. Call it an N.C. beer if you’re feeling generous; the Colorado-based company also brews in Brevard. A few random checks found it’s not made it to Charlotte yet but is expected any day.
