At some point we’ll pay for this great weather
Looks like summer is getting here a little early. I’ll probably be planting squash and beans next week. ... Somehow I feel we will be paying for these nice days.
It finally has mostly dried out to do some light tillage. I am about a fourth of the way through reshaping my farm – putting all the beds, pathways and fields on contour, building swales and small pocket ponds. I would like to have all that framework done February/March, but it all depends on rainfall.
Looking for land
I know a young guy that wants to start an organic market garden and is looking for a 10th- to a half-acre of land to start on. I told him I would ask y’all. He works in Charlotte and lives in Gastonia. If any of you know of a small piece of property he could rent, trade for vegetables, whatever, let me know at demullis@vnet.net and I will pass the info along.
