Charlotte doctors host advocate of Medicare for all

Dr. Andrew Coates, a New York physician and immediate past president of Physicians for a National Health Program, will speak in Charlotte Thursday in support of a single-payer health plan. His free talk, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Myers Park Baptist Church, Heaton Hall, 1900 Queens Road, is sponsored by Health Care Justice-North Carolina. Coates will outline his reasons for favoring expansion of Medicare, the federal health program for seniors and the disabled, to cover all Americans. Karen Garloch
