Could an ancient wooden structure discovered beneath volcanic rock and ice on Turkey’s Mount Ararat be Noah’s Ark of biblical fame?
That will be the focus of a panel of explorers and experts speaking at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Charlotte’s Calvary Church, 5801 Pineville-Matthews Road.
The presentation organized by Southern Evangelical Seminary in Matthews will feature the Turkish explorer, Ahmet Ertugrul, better known as Parasut, who made the discovery. The panel will also include an American engineer, Philip Williams, who has investigated charges that the discovery was a hoax. The event is free. Tim Funk
