‘Bikers with Boxes’ at Billy Graham Library
The Billy Graham Library in Charlotte welcomed hundreds of motorcyclists bearing gifts Saturday as part of its annual “Bikers with Boxes” event.
The bikers, wheeling in from all over the Southeast, brought shoe boxes filled with gifts for children. They'll be distributed around the world through "Operation Christmas Child," a project of the Boone-based international relief agency, Samaritan’s Purse.
Franklin Graham heads both Samaritan's Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in Charlotte. A motorcycle enthusiast himself, Franklin Graham spoke to the bikers, as did Yves Dushine – a former shoe box recipient from Rwanda who volunteers with Operation Christmas Child.
