High times at Beech Mountain Sept. 5-6

The Mile High Kite & Craft Festival will have a public area for kite flying and space for demonstrations by kite club members. Craft vendors have been added this year.

A children’s area offers games and activities. The first 150 kids (12 and younger) each day receive a free kite. Kites will also be for sale.

Festival hours: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days. Free. On Sept. 5 there will be a 7-9 p.m. all-ages street dance. Details: www.beechmtn.com.
