Duke Energy said Thursday it will donate $325,000 to seven charities providing disaster relief after Hurricane Matthew in the Carolinas and Florida.

In North Carolina, Duke will give $100,000 and its newly-acquired Piedmont Natural Gas subsidiary $25,000 to the Red Cross.

Duke will give $50,000 to the One SC Fund in South Carolina, which Gov. Nikki Haley created after flooding in the state a year ago. The Red Cross and Harvest Food Bank will each get $25,000.
