Huntersville-based American Tire Distributors announced an acquisition to expand its Canadian business Monday.

National Tire Distributors, American Tire’s Canadian company and Canada’s largest tire distributor, acquired Pneus Superieurs, a company with three distribution centers in Quebec.

The additional centers will shorten delivery times and increase product selection in Quebec, according to a statement. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“This move contributes to our business and strengthens our portfolio for delivery,” American Tire CEO Stuart Schuette said in a statement. “Bringing these great teams together allows NTD to provide a best-in-class delivery and service and adds value for our customer, building the most customer-centric distribution team the industry has ever seen.”

American Tire is based in Huntersville and employs more than 5,000 across the U.S. and Canada. The company stores and distributes tires from many brands and operates more than 140 distribution centers. In 2015, it was No. 514 on Fortune’s annual list of companies ranked by revenue.
